The EVOLVE promotion is set to return to Rahway, NJ this Saturday Night, May the 1st, at the Rahway Recreational Center. So far the company's first two shows have received rave reviews from fans in attendance, and more importantly, from fans around the world who have seen the DVDs.

The officials behind EVOLVE have changed the format for this event, and have pitted competitors with matching win/loss records against one another in a bid to mix things up. The first two EVOLVE proceedings were titled after the main event of each program. For this event, the theme will be taken off of the individuals, and simply tagged

EVOLVE 3 will be make or break time for some of the men on the roster who have fought valiantly, however come up short in the win column. Last March's main event loser Chris Hero (0-1) returns to Rahway, perhaps a bit more modest than the days leading up to EVOLVE 2, where the 'Young Knockout Kid' demanded to be placed in the main event. On May 1st, it's been decided that Hero will tie up with Bobby Fish(2-0). Fish is the epitome of the first sentence in this paragraph. He's worked tremendously hard, and been involved in two tough match ups. His showing in March against Claudio Castagnoli received one of the loudest ovations of the night. It was a devastating loss for Fish, who must be wondering what he has to do to win a match in this promotion. He'll have another opportunity to find the solution when he climbs in the ring with one of the best wrestlers on the independent wrestling scene today in Chris Hero.

Ironically, Brad Allen (2-0), the man whose challenge Hero dismissed for EVOLVE 2, now stands at 2 wins no losses. Allen, formerly Brad Attitude of WWE fame, has held his head up high in a situation that most others may have been embarrassed by. Chris Hero stated that Allen wasn't in his league, and hadn't earned a match with an opponent of main event caliber yet. Although Allen will have to wait for an opportunity with Hero, he'll have to prove himself against another undefeated individual, independent wrestling perennial all star Jimmy Jacobs (2-0). Jacobs, known for erratic behavior and unrewarding rivalries, has proven that he can forego personal issues and focus on winning. In Allen, he won't find someone with a vendetta and personal issues against, he'll find someone desperate to defeat him and advance to 3-0, and one more step closer to Chris Hero.

From EVOLVEWrestling.com

"The theme for EVOLVE 3 has been determined and it will set it apart from the first two EVOLVE events. EVOLVE 1 and 2 both had their main events in the show names. EVOLVE 3 will not focus on just one match. Instead, it will be a concept show. The official name of the May 1st show is now "EVOLVE 3: Rise Or Fall" and it will take place at the conveniently located Rahway Rec Center in Rahway, NJ. The theme is simple. Wrestlers with similar records will be pitted against each other. The winner will rise and the loser will fall. Who will climb to the top? Who will hold the record for most wins? Who will keep their win streak in tact? Who will rise to the top? Who will fall into a deep hole? Not every match on the card will be based on record, but it will be the overriding theme of the show."

EVOLVE will also feature new faces to the roster. The man who is lighting up independent wrestling from the East Coast to the Mid West, including Philadelphia, will be making his EVOLVE debut in Rahway. "The New Horror" Sami Callihan will be taking on Combat Zone Wresting (CZW) academy graduate Adam Cole, in what will surely be a crowd pleaser. Callihan has found success in every single promotion he's thrown his hat in and more than likely will expect the same in EVOLVE.

Two other CZW standouts, Drake Younger and John Moxley will also be making their debut on May 1st. Both men are former CZW Champions, and both men have fought before. It will be interesting to see the two bring their brand of punishment to the EVOLVE roster, and more interesting to see which man advances in the rankings.

Filling out the show is a three way tag team match featuring Aeroform (0-2), Up In Smoke (1-0), and making their EVOLVE debut, Team Beyond. Aeroform has yet to pick up a victory after having competed on all three events. Their first loss was a lopsided affair against the Dark City Fight Club. Last month they lost in an official tag ranked bout against the duo of Cheech and Cloudy. They'll have an opportunity to step in the ring with those two men at EVOLVE 3, but they'll also have to contend with Team Beyond, who may end up the spoilers in this match.

Unfortunately, Jack Evans was a late scratch and will not be able to compete at EVOLVE 3.
