Mercedes Martinez defeated Rain, the number 1 contender to her Women's Superstars Uncensored (WSU) World Championship this past Saturday Night in a 30 minute grueling "Uncensored Rules" contest that saw the action spill across the entire ACE Arena. Rain gave the champion a run for her money taking Martinez to the brink of defeat several times during the contest. Despite smashing the champion into a table at ringside twice, along with two DDT's on a steel chair, Rain was unable to get the three count from official Molly Holly, who earlier in the night had been appointed to be the special guest referee by WSU Commissioner Dawn Marie.
The stage was set earlier in the evening, immediately following the Hall Of Fame Ceremony, when Rain and the champion had words while on the way back to the locker room. It's not known what was said between the two, but blows were thrown and it took the entire locker room to separate them. It would set the tone for the rest of the evening, the niceties from the HOF ceremony were over.
Rain would also get a quick jump on Martinez as the champion was making her way out for the match. While The Latina Sensation's music was still blaring throughout the ACE Arena and the champion was greeting her fans at ringside, Rain slithered from the opposite side of the ring to strike. She would use the WSU Tag Team Championship belt that Martinez shares with Angel Orsini as a battering ram to the champion's skull, knocking Martinez senseless temporarily. It would be minutes before they would take the action into the ring. In fact, much of their brutal contest took place outside of the confines of the ring. Nothing was held back as the two warriors obliterated the seating arrangements, took down vendor's tables, and fought their way through the bleachers. All the while using anything that came their way for a quick advantage, including the guard rails, and a table that was propped up against the ring post. Unfortunately it was Martinez who took the brunt of the punishment. In the end however, they would make their way to the ring, and just as she has in every single title defense, Martinez was able to put the challenger away with her patented Fisherman's Buster for the win.
After the match, the Martinez looked the worse for wear. "Rain gave me a hell of a match tonight, probably the toughest I've had, and I have to give her credit for that. But she's so evil, she's so underhanded that I would never, ever let her put me down. There were times out there that I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get up, like after that second time she through me in to the table, but my legs just kept holding me up. I'm sure this one's going to take a few days to recover from. I tip my hat to her, but I told you I would prove to the world that I'm better than her."
Indeed the champion has done just that. After months of speculation of whether Rain would become the next WSU Champion behind the mind games she was playing with Martinez, the question has been answered. Rain however, would have you think otherwise. "She cheated! Mercedes Martinez is a cheater! It's so obvious that she paid off those two bimbos. How dare Dawn Marie come out and disrupt everything that I've worked for! A year and a half I spent cultivating my plans, and that has been of a nobody comes in and ruins it all in a two minute promo? How dare Molly Holly come out here and blatantly lie and deliberately give me slow counts! Mercedes Martinez, I'm better than you. I've always been better than you, and I always will. This isn't over...you cheater! I'm going to fix her, wait, you'll see".
Now that there's a new number one contender, after the match between Jazz and Amber O'neal, it's not known what position Rain has with the company. She's been difficult to deal with for WSU officials these past few months. Will she be forced to climb the ladder for another match with Martinez, or will her wish be granted and Rain vs Martinez 2 around the corner?

And in other bouts on this historic evening...
Total Nonstop Action (TNA) superstar Angelina Love tied up with Sassie Stephie, in a back and forth match that was a great opener for the star studded spectacular 3rd Anniversary show. Sassie Stephie held control for a good portion of the match, working on Love's lower back and softening her up for her finisher. But Angelina fought back and was able to defeat the Ohio native. As mentioned, a great bout to open the show. "Stephie is as good as any opponent I've ever faced anywhere. She's a tough customer who took me to the limit. It was a pleasure working with her, and I wish her the best", Angelina said about her opponent. Stephie was just as forthcoming. "No wonder Angelina runs things down in Orlando, she's one of the toughest competitors I've ever stepped in the ring with. She took everything I threw at her. I hope I get another chance with her."

This was a match that featured the debut of two teams to WSU. Amber, who is no stranger to the promotion, returned to NJ, and brought with her a new tag team partner in Lexxus, and together they fashion themselves as "The Boston Shore". "We're here to show you what Boston's all about. Those inbreds on television 'The Jersey Shore' are an embarrassment to guidos everywhere". They took on the tag team of Tina San Antonio and Marti Belle. Although big things may be expected from the team of San Antonio and Belle, they didn't fare well in this match, as the Boston Shore singled out the smaller Belle and worked her over for the victory. "We'll bounce back" said San Antonio who tended to her partner, "We just need to work out some of the kinks. I hope WSU gives us another opportunity to get in the ring with the Boston Shore for another go of it". Hopefully, both teams will be brought back for a second look. It appears that The Boston Shore will, as they made their presence felt later in the night.

Rick Cataldo made his way to ringside along with his number one charge Brittney Savage. Cataldo claimed to be the best and only diva in the house (other than Savage of course), and laid out an open challenge. It would be a challenge that would bring out Alere Little Feather, who hadn't been seen in a ring in a years time due to a serious illness, one that A.L.F. would refer to as "life threatening". It wouldn't be much of a match however, Alere took Cataldo apart in under two minutes. The Indian maiden's celebration would be brief, as Cindy Rodgers entered the ring, and with bad intentions. Rodgers picked this day to declare that she was tired of the way she's been used in WSU, and "The Definition Of Technician" went about picking A.L.F. apart with deadly precision, tapping out the returning superstar. "I'm tired of never getting my share of action. It's always 'we're sorry Cindy, but why don't you give this youngster 10 good minutes', well those days are over. I'm putting every single girl on the roster on notice. I'm better than all of them, even Martinez, and it's time for Cindy Rodgers to break out and break bones." Rodgers has proven time and time again to be a serious competitor while in the ring. It will definitely be interesting to see where this new found attitude will take her.

These two women have been down all the roads together. They started out in the business together, and became best friends very quickly. Each thought that they would be friends forever, but constantly losing can put a serious strain on a relationship. The two friends became bitter enemies, and as it's been said before, in order to hate some one fully, you must have loved them first. With nothing on their minds except for causing bodily injury to their opponent, both women finished their epic feud with one another in the only way that two people can end a tragic feud of this nature, with an "I Quit" match. It was thought that Jana would have the sure advantage in a match like this as she has gone on the proverbial war path defeating all of her opponents with her deadly "Jana Vice". But Latasha showed she had a few submission holds herself that Jana should be aware of. "I worked hard on getting those moves right, and I think I almost had her", Latasha confided. "I wanted to focus on her lower back because I remember all the times she would complain while we were driving to shows. She's a tough girl though, and even though I hate her attitude and what she's become, I have to say she got me."
"Damn right I got her!" Jana shouted. "I'm through with that piece of garbage, and it's time to take her away to the dump. As long as I live I hope I never hear her name again". Jana rubbed her lower back and grimaced, "you know she showed me something out there though, and I'll always respect her for that. A lot of those other girls, they just fold like a cheap tent, but Latasha hung in there as long as she could, so you can't dismiss that. But like I said, I'm through with her and ready to move on to bigger and better things. Sorry Latasha, but you and me, are finally over". Their feud, which has taken both girls over the entire state of NJ and NY, has reached it's merciful end.

Unfortunately, Nikki Roxx's injury prevented her from getting in the ring with Angel Orsini. No one could be more upset with this circumstance than Roxx herself, who after two and a half years of carrying around the burden of having lost her WSU Worlds Championship to Orsini, was looking forward to finally answering the question of whether or not she was better. The answer will have to wait. In the meantime, it would be Sumie Sakai who would be the first to answer Orsini's in ring challenge at the 3rd Anniversary show. Amy Lee would be the second. The three women would go on to do battle throughout the ACE Arena, bringing ladders and chairs into the mix. Lee surprised the Union City attendance and WSU officials alike by cutting an in ring promo free of any vulgarities. "I can work clean", Lee stated after the match. "I don't need the filthy language to get my point across. Sometimes I get a little carried away with the excitement that's all. The year off taught me some things. But the important thing is that I had a year off of kicking ass, and I got bored quick. If I have to keep my mouth clean to be able to kick some tail, then that's what I have to do. I still want my cage match with Kong, I still want my title shot with Martinez, and now I want a tag team partner and a match with Orsini and Martinez for those belts."
After Orsini and Lee were featured on "The Grind House" with 42nd Street Pete last week, Lee expressed the desire to get in the ring with Orsini one more time, claiming that she had began her career with several matches with Orsini. She would get her wish, and the two, along with one of the best independent wrestlers on the scene in Sumie Sakai, tore the house down. Unfortunately for Sakai however, she was out of her element in this brawl, which made her easy pickins when the time was right. Orsini was able to get a three count while Lee was capacitated after being irish whipped into the ladder.

Brittney Savage and Rick Cataldo told anyone who would listen that the blonde bombshell would have the Spirit Championship in her possession by the end of the weekend. She would be correct. What wasn't known at the time however was what was included in the plan that the pair had cooked up. It would be a scheme that would involve a bottle of hair spray, and a little interference from Cataldo who would make sure that the official was tied up in the process. "Alicia is such a fool. She fell for the whole thing hook line and sinker!" Cataldo gloated. "It's not like we needed a plan or anything to get the title back", Savage agreed, "But I didn't want to break a sweat, and we had plans later on tonight, I don't want to get my hair messed up. And I'm so through with Alicia now that I've got my belt back. I hope I never have to get her grease on me again."
On the other side of the building, Alicia would disagree. "I can't believe that b***h and that a**hole, those thieves. Even back in the day I never needed to spray anyone in the face with hair spray to pick up a victory, not to mention a title. A title is something to be earned, to be respected. How she can look in the mirror with that belt on and think that she earned it, or deserves it? Unbelievable. I need to refocus on things. I need to get my head clear. I need to enter that J Cup and put things into the proper perspective. Savage, you're going to have to wait while I get on the right track, the track that I once owned. You and me will resolve this little misunderstanding. It might not even come in a ring. I might take care of you as a little extra curricular assignment. And Rick, I hope you learned a little lesson in there, don't stick your nose in my business again!"

April Hunter faced off against the recently released TNA Knockout Traci Brooks in a thrilling bout that saw both women entertain the crowd with their theatrics. Hunter would pick up the victory, but immediately following the bout, The Boston Shore (Amber and Lexxus) would return to the ring and accuse Hunter of turning her back on her Boston roots, pointing out that Hunter spent much of her training in Massachusetts training with Killer Kowalski. It appeared that the duo would attack Hunter, but Brooks, who had hung around the ring, quickly jumped in to Hunter's defense, which sent the Boston Shore girls scurrying to the back. "Now that I have some free time on my hands, I think I'll hang around WSU and see what happens", Traci said. "These people are going to see some real 'T-N-A' around here, and not that crap on television", Hunter agreed. It looks like the tag team division is heating up!

In a match that would decide the number one contender to the Mercedes Martinez's WSU World Championship, Amber O'neal was able to defeat Jazz with her popular pinning combination. Jazz has proven that she hasn't missed a beat during her time away from the sport, but O'neal, who has been undefeated during her stint with the promotion, proved to be too much to handle for the recent Hall Of Fame inductee. Two referees would go down during the contest, but the original, Kenny Edwards, would revive long enough to make the three count. "Both of these women should be proud of all their accomplishments," Edwards glowingly recounted after the bout. "Even though I went down, and Johnny went down later, it was an absolute honor to be that match." O'neal now finds herself the number one contender and it's been announced that she'll get a crack at the championship in April at The J- Cup. "This is what I've been waiting for, some real competition, not some washed up has beens, or a bunch of never was that WSU keeps feeding me", Amber mentioned at the end of the night. "Heck, I'm not even sure if Mercedes Martinez is in my league, although that match that those ladies (MM and Rain) just had is a little alarming. But I'll use my brains to beat Martinez, she doesn't look all that smart to me."

It was a fantastic day and night for the promotion celebrating it's third year in existence. The fans in attendance were treated to a spectacular set of matches topped off with the best female competitor on the planet, once again proving she's the best. From the mini convention that took place earlier in the day, to the very classy Hall Of Fame Ceremony, for the fans of WSU who packed the ACE Arena for this very special event, it was a great day to be a fan of women's wrestling.
